Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Blue Willow
Yes, its Blue Willow and its Thanksgiving
Well, not really, Im just getting my Thanksgiving post up.
I used fresh fruit for centerpieces which served the dual purpose of becoming Christmas garland when we dried and strung the citrus. The rest we ate. I think Ill do that again next year. It adds a lot of fall color to the table too.
Dont be deceived into thinking it was a table for four.
We served 36 -- all on Blue Willow. With the exception of three Churchill Blue Willow dinner plates I was lucky to find at the last minute at an antique store when we learned guests were bringing guests, it was all Allertons Blue Willow Ive been collecting since I rescued my aunts treasured set just before it was all about to be sent to an antiques dealer. For back story click here.
Each guest left a note telling us what they were thankful for. Wont they be surprised when I use this picture as next years invitation. Lucky for me none of them read my blog. Its kinda my secret Internet life - - hows that for an oxymoron?
Enjoying dinner. Wait one minute. Is he removing a charger? Yeah, I guess they do kind of get in the way when we have so many people and so much food. But they looked nice.
Enjoying appetizers. (We did eat in the right order.)
I used branches from a Bradford Pear as the focal point on my dining room sideboard. In keeping with the edible centerpiece theme, the vase is filled with mixed nuts.
Plenty of appetizers . . . and cocktails.
Thought Id throw in a picture of my breakfast room sideboard. The vegetable pitchers and mug - $1 at the community thrift store. Same shopping trip as when I scored the $1 bunny pitcher holding the forsythia in my Easter post.
Im linking to Between Naps on the Porch Tablescape Thursday where Im certain you will see many beautiful Christmas tablescapes, and maybe a few late Thanksgiving posts like mine. Just click on the image below.
