Chirs Smith COTA at MScci committee

Chris Smith from Council of the Ageing (COTA) attended the Mens Sheds Central Coast Inc Committee meeting and shed information about "Mates to Mates" and other peer education programs from COTA.

Chris was invited to attend as part of the Toolbox Talks program to assess future opportunities for presentations and training. His presentation was well received and informative. The Shed represenative were provide with a showbag of COTA programs to distribute at their respective sheds.

Unfortunately Chris had to leave early on this occassion with a sick dog in the household.

Chris Smith is the Coordinator of the Mate to Mate Project of COTA (Council of the Ageing). Chris has run projects for the last 6 yeaers in London, UK and Australia tackling social isolation and associated heatlh problems. He is very passionate about takting a prevenative approach to health that takes into account the social environment and strengths of individuals and communities to develop meaningful and realistic solutions to community issues.
